GRADE 2 WEEK 6 TERM 3

REMOTE LEARNING 2020

17th August 2020 – 21st August 2020

READ ALONG WITH MRS MENHENNET!

This is week 6 of Term 3 2020 and all my Grade 2  students are remote learning at home!

This is week 6 and your Specialists Rich Task is due at the end of this week. If you need the instructions for the Rich Task you can find them on the Week 5 blog post. If you can’t find the Week 5 blog post there is a link to it in the sidebar of the blog in the section called Recent Blog Posts.

Please upload your Rich Task into the correct Edmodo folder. You also need to ensure you have submitted any other work for your  Specialist teachers that is evidence of your participation in remote learning, into the correct place.

The Visual Arts swimming body drawing from Week 2 and Week 3 should be in their folders.

If you have already completed your rich task and uploaded all of your Specialist work here is one of my favourite stories for you to enjoy. It is called THE DAY THE CRAYONS QUIT by Drew Daywalt with illustrations by Oliver Jeffers.

The brilliant actor performing that read aloud of the story is Matt Chizever. His character voices for the different crayons are fantastic.

I tried really hard to find the same actor reading THE DAY THE CRAYONS CAME HOME without any luck. However, this actor does a great job of making the crayons come alive too. His name is Dave Edgren.

If you enjoyed the story or want to tell me anything else you can always post a comment at the end of this blog post.

If you don’t know how to post a comment I gave you instructions on how to do this last week.

Have fun,

from Mrs Menhennet

Here are the Grade 2 rich tasks 2020.

      Hi Joseph,
I am so glad that you love art.
The more you draw, the better you will get at drawing.
I hope we get to work in the art room together soon.

      Hi Mark,
They are funny and enjoying having a laugh is a good thing to do while we are still in lockdown.
Which other stories make you laugh?

Hi Mrs Menhennet I have already submitted my rich task in the assignment folder but I don’t know how to submit the swimming drawings in the week 2 and week 3 folders.

      Hi Alyxa,
I will have a look at Edmodo and get back to you.
Perhaps the folders for the week 2 and 3 drawings are a long way down the list of posts.
Like I said, I’ll have a look when I have finished typing my replies to these comments and I will get back to you.

      Hi Mana,
I am so glad you liked the crayon stories.
I love them. I think there is at least one more book in this series.
I’ll find out what the title of the other book is.
